About Us

Pro-Bel officially opened in the 1970's. At that time we were not a manufacturer of permanent window washing equipment and fall protection systems. The company was started by Our Founder Marc Lebel as a high-rise window cleaning company operating under the name Pro-Bel Services. Marc quickly discovered that most building did not provide adequate safety equipment for window cleaners. This led him to design our first Roof Anchor and modern day Pro-Bel was created.

Today Pro-Bel is multi national company. We hold more than 200,000 square feet (18,400 m2) of office and manufacturing space. Our team consists of more than 200 people who are experienced and knowledgeable to provide you with the best service in the industry.

To date we have completed more than 17,350 projects, some of which can me seen in our Project Profiles section. We strive to push our industry forward by continually designing safe and functional equipment. Our growth has expanded Pro-Bel's expertise into more than an specialty products company but into a professional engineering firm specializing in our industry. Our ability to create custom products and solutions suited for modern architecture is what has helped to establish Pro-Bel as the industry leader for engineered fall arrest and suspended access systems.

Over the past 40 years Pro-Bel has built relationships with thousands of clients World Wide. Although we are known as the Safety Roof Anchor Company our product line has grown substantially. We now offer a complete line of window washing equipment and fall protection systems that includes but is not limited to Roof Anchors, Davits, Horizontal Lifelines, Permanent Powered Platforms and Roof Cars.

Our Founder

Mr. Lebel

In 1978, Marc Lebel established Pro-Bel Services, a high-rise window cleaning venture that would prove to be the predecessor for today’s company. At the time, window cleaning contractors made do with suspension systems that lacked the auxiliary safety line anchoring points that are today considered essential in the event of equipment failure or emergency.

An alarming number of falls led Mr. Lebel to conclude that workers were desperately in need of independent lifelines secured to properly situated rooftop anchors. In the years that followed, Mr. Lebel would spearhead a quantum leap in the fall protection industry, developing and patenting critical devices (including the U-Bar Anchor) that would help to ensure the safety of suspended access personnel.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Mr. Lebel is today more than ever the driving force behind the Pro-Bel brand. He continues to develop innovative solutions and technologies in order to combat the increasingly complex demands set forth by contemporary architecture and structural design.

Furthermore, in his ongoing commitment to the interests of suspended access workers, Mr. Lebel - as a long standing member - continues to sit on the following standards committees, where he actively campaigns for increased safety protocols:

• ANSI/IWCA I.14.1-2001 Window Cleaning Safety Standard
• CAN/CSA-Z291-02 (R2008) Health and Safety Code for Suspended Equipment Operations
• CAN/CSA-Z271-98 (R2004) Safety Code for Suspended Elevating Platforms
