The WHMIS with GHS: 2025 training course equips high-access technicians, swing-stage operators, and building maintenance professionals with the essential knowledge to recognize and safely handle hazardous materials while working at height. Updated to align with the 7th Revised Edition of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), this course provides a comprehensive understanding of WHMIS regulations, label interpretation, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Learners will explore the legal framework under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), the duties of employers and workers, and the key updates introduced in WHMIS 2025. Through field-relevant examples, participants will identify common chemical hazards such as compressed gases, corrosives, and flammable solvents used in rope access and façade maintenance.
The course combines visual learning, real-world case studies, and scenario-based quizzes to reinforce safe handling practices and emergency response at elevation. Participants will also learn to apply WHMIS principles in challenging high-access environments where limited mobility, wind exposure, and confined spaces heighten risk.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Understand the WHMIS 2025 framework and its alignment with GHS standards.
Identify GHS pictograms, hazard classes, and their real-world implications.
Accurately interpret labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for workplace chemicals.
Apply safe handling procedures and emergency response protocols at height.
Recognize the responsibilities of employers, supervisors, and workers under WHMIS.
Rope Access Technicians
Swing Stage Operators
Building Maintenance and Construction Personnel
Supervisors of High Access Operations
Participants who successfully complete the course and achieve a passing grade on the final knowledge check will receive a Certificate of Completion verifying WHMIS 2025 compliance training.
