Located in Midtown Toronto, the E Condos are the jewel of their neighbourhood. The façade of both towers is a mixture of black metal and glass panels, and a red section projecting out to cantilever over the city. The towers’ unique modernistic design stands out among the other buildings on the street, further elevating the neighbourhood.  E Condo 8 stands at 58 storeys tall and E 15 is 38 storeys tall. Combined, the towers offer an abundance of outdoor amenities at terrace levels and shopping and food options at ground level.

Pro-Bel Technical Solution

Being an impressive 58 storeys high, E-8 requires a more sophisticated fall protection and window washing system. We designed a rolling davit system on I-beam tracks around the perimeter of the main roof to service the majority of the façade from the 4th storey upwards. The façade below the overhang created by the protruding 25th storey is serviced by a monorail system; the monorail track is installed on the underside of the 25th storey. To service the 4 storey extended podium, we designed a conventional system of anchors and davits installed on the 3rd and 4th storeys. Stabilization buttons are fitted approximately every 5 storeys to ensure safe vertical travel.

E-15 features a conventional system of davits and anchors on the main roof, and a monorail system on the underside of the protruding 36th storey. We also designed a davit system on the extended 13th storey terrace and an anchor system on the 6 storey podium. Stabilization buttons are fitted on the shorter tower as well to ensure safe vertical travel.
