The Mark is a high-rise condo in Yaletown, Vancouver at the centre of one of the city’s most popular shopping and dining locations. 47 storeys tall, the building features a 6 storey podium, outdoor amenities at the podium roof, and columns of uniform protruding balconies.

Pro-Bel Technical Solution

The Pro-Bel Vancouver team designed monorail systems to service the tower. A unique “halo”stylemonorail and a monorail under a 40th storey balcony service the north façade, the northwestern façade is serviced by a monorail under the 10th storey, and the southwestern façade is serviced by 3 monorails under balconies on the 10, 12 and 47th storeys.

A Davit system is designed to service the remaining sides of the tower, with recessed davit bases on the 40th storey terrace to preserve the aesthetic of the amenity level. Recessed wall anchors provide fall protection on the extended podium roof. A horizontal lifeline (cable) system around the perimeter of the main roof provides safe access to equipment located in fall hazard zones (2m or closer from the edge) on the main roof. We also designed mullion and cast in place intermittent stabilization anchors (ISA’s /stabilization buttons) installed approximately every 3 storeys to ensure safe vertical travel when performing suspended maintenance or window washing.
